Working with POL, we made a series of shorts about a very Norwegian habit: singing traditional carols for decades without actually understanding the lyrics. If you're reading this in English, the puns are basically untranslatable—they rely entirely on local phonetic slips. Director Martin Engh visualized the exact moments train passengers realize their private version of a holiday classic is hilariously wrong. We animated these mental slips, ranging from "Scottish people and rats" to a rather startling misinterpretation involving Santa. Just quiet train rides, weird internal monologues, and shared confusion.
